Bathurst Harbour is located in the vast, stunning Southwest National Park of Tasmania’s Deep South. Located at 43 degrees south and surrounded by low-lying alluvial plains and button grass moorlands with mountain ranges running along the eastern and western shores, this landlocked, shallow waterway provides safe anchorage from the Roaring Forties and Southern Ocean. Accessed only by plane, hike or boat; this place is the truest definition of rugged, untouched beauty in nature.
A huge thanks to pilot Theo and the team at Par Avion Tasmania for an incredible opportunity. We were treated with a rare calm and clear midwinter's day. I cannot recommend the services of Par Avion highly enough. From flight expertise, harbour boat ride, to the immense information and guidance - the trip was so memorable.
